Made from 10 gauge carbon steel, the Veeders Carbon Steel Mailbox was the original heavy duty steel vandal-busting mailbox introduced in 1979 to combat rampant vandal destruction of residential mailboxes in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio.  Popularity of this mailbox spread to other areas of the country as homeowners grew weary of replacing their light weight mailboxes which were repeatedly demolished by persistent mailbox vandals.  The Veeders was so successful at repelling vandalism that its popularity spread. While the concept has been copied by other manufacturers, this mailbox is the original vandal-buster.  It is still hand-crafted by skilled artisans in the same Ohio location.  These mailboxes are superior in every way to any of the China-made copies currently offered in big box stores.  The Veeders is time-proven over 30 years as the most effective vandal-resistant mailbox available.  Each Veeders Mailbox is custom made, so allow 4 to 6 weeks for fabrication and shipment of your Veeders Carbon Steel Mailbox.
