The MailSwing
itself is an arm that is mounted on either a 4" X 4" wood post or 2 1/2" steel pipe. Its HEAVY DUTY all steel construction keeps your mailbox out of harm's way like this:
First, the base of your post can be mounted farther away from the road's edge than a conventional mailbox post. The arm itself is
adjustable so you can position your mailbox at a distance that's right for you.
When a plow blade throws its heavy load of snow against your mailbox, instead of collapsing as most boxes would do, the force from the snow
pushes your mailbox up and away from the blade (shown at right).
By then the snowplow is gone, having cleared the snow away from the base of your mailbox, and you don't have to put up a new one the next
day! Couldn't be easier!
At first it might be hard to picture how this post/mount would work, but once you install one, you will
realize just how clever this concept is. The durability of these mailbox arms is amazing. The manufacturer has sold thousands in Northern New England over the past 30 years and
their customers really love them! They last and last and last.
